Administrative Assistant

We seek an Administrative Assistant to assist in the coordination of long term and day-to-day activities for the new NeuroNex Technology Hub and its leaders. These activities support the aims of this cooperative agreement: innovation and development of tools for neuroscience research, dissemination of knowledge via a website and personal connections, and education for students and the public.

Responsibilities will include helping to coordinate reimbursement for project leaders, helping to coordinate scheduling, and helping to record and disseminate meeting notes.

•    Associate’s degree and 1-2 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Degree and/or work experience in communications, visual/graphic design, and/or a STEM-field preferred
•    Demonstrated experience with detailed record keeping
•    Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
•    Experience working in an academic setting preferred
•    Experience with travel and event planning, especially complicated or multifaceted itineraries
•    Experience with videoconferencing preferred
•    Genuine interest in neuroscience, marine biology, molecular biology is a plus
•    Interest and proficiency in basic hosting/entertaining is helpful
•    Interest in website development and maintenance is helpful
•    Experience in teaching/coaching/counseling, especially middle- to high school-age children is a plus
•    Careful attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks amidst competing projects.
•    Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) the basics of copyright laws as they apply to materials posted on the Internet.
•    Proficient with Google, Microsoft, and Apple software packages. Experience and/or willingness to learn project management software such as Asana, Wrike, Zoho, Trello, etc.
•    Knowledge of basic webpage design, content acquisition, creation and maintenance is a plus.
