Alumni Relations Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of alumni programs and events and contributes to organizational initiatives for Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM). The candidate will also assist with the promotion, implementation, and logistics of various alumni programs such as alumni receptions, information seminars, reunions and continuing education programs.

 

 

  • Assist in the recruitment of RUSM graduates for University programs including but not limited to information seminars, webinars, and campus visits.
  • Communicates University initiatives and updates to the alumni populations
  • Execute alumni-related scholarships, awards, and grant programs
  • Assists in the administration of the RUSM mentorship program.
  • Assists in the management of annual alumni awards through nomination and committee planning process
  • Serve as advisor to the RUSM Alumni Association (meetings, admin support, events, strategic planning)
  • Oversee planning and execution of student-related campus events
  • Facilitates the connection of prospective/current students with graduates/clinical students
  • Maintains alumni records through the use of AVMA/AMA databases, Raiser's Edge, surveys, event registrations, etc.
  • Researches alumni database in identifying outstanding alumni for general publications and or marketing productions.
  • Coordinates department and division-wide meetings, as appropriate, and arranges for meeting specifics, such as meals, refreshments and materials.
  • Facilitates Alumni communications via social, email or phone.
  • In conjunction with the Manager of University Events, coordinates travel arrangements including transportation, lodging, conference registrations, travel authorization and claim forms. Processes travel and expense forms for travel requests,
  • Research event opportunities and assist in the marketing of each
  • Represent the department at University sponsored events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Enhance the department's reach through social media outlets.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Possess minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in alumni relations or related experience
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to use various mediums effectively to communicate messages.
  • Ability to think analytically while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Established flexibility and initiative; the ability to work independently, as well as thrive in a team environment to achieve institutional goals.
  • Previous experience utilizing communication programs and/or integrated student information systems. Experience with Raiser's Edge a plus.
  • Position involves some travel and requires a willingness to work evenings and weekends.
