Assistant/Associate Professor

Assistant/Associate Professor: The University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH) seeks two individuals at the level of Assistant and/or Associate Professor (NTS) to teach and participate in course and program development for the MPH and DrPH degrees. These full-time positions (#0136236/#0136241) may be appointed in any of the school's seven departments, depending on the candidate's strengths and interests. Candidates may focus primarily on the educational mission of the school, or may have substantial interest in both teaching and research. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's background/experience and corresponding salary range of $85,000-$110,000.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A doctoral-level degree and experience in a public health field.
    • Substantial interest in pedagogy and educational program development.
    • Demonstrated skills to teach some or all of the following: foundational competencies of public health, health communication, the application of problem solving methodology to analyze current public health issues, and effective communication approaches for public health research and practice.
    • Commitment to collaboration with existing GSPH faculty to develop educational programs and to serve the school.
    • A commitment to the school's values of respectful dialogue, cultural humility, and promotion of health equity.
