Job Description:

Duties are numbered for convenience, and do not indicate order in terms of importance, frequency that the duty is performed, or the amount of time spent on the duty.

1) Assists students, staff and faculty in computer labs with routine inquiries.

2) Provides technical desktop and wireless computer support.

3) Assists students, staff and faculty with navigation of Blackboard, Cougar Web, email and Microsoft applications.

4) Assists students with library research, citation and reference methods.

5) Responsible for reporting hardware, software and printing issues to support staff.

6) Conducts basic maintenance on printers and computers, including, but not limited to adding paper and replacing toner cartridges, cleaning computers, monitors and tables.

7) Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required and approved to meet workload demands.

8) Performs other related duties as required.

Usual Physical Demands: The incumbent of this position typically exhibits the physical demands identified in the Functional Job Analysis on file in the College's Human Resources Department and which is periodically reviewed and updated. Physical demands listed in the Functional Job Analysis are not job qualification standards, but are used to help the College assess and determine reasonable accommodations for otherwise qualified individuals covered by the American's with Disabilities Act.

While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently stands and walks for extended periods of time and occasionally sits. The employee converses verbally with others in person. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal laboratory working conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: computers, computer software, programs and applications; Blackboard; student/staff email software. Skill in: verbal and written communications; general typing; application of job software programs. Ability to help students with library reference methods; work independently demonstrating initiative; develop and maintain working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts; provide customer service to general public; answer routine inquiries; maintain confidential and sensitive information; maintain accurate and complete work records.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with at least six months experience with computers. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
