The Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development in the College of Education invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor. This position is located on the Statesboro campus, but may require teaching on the other campuses.

Within this setting, the College of Education (http://coe.georgiasouthern.edu/) offers undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare students for work in public education, community agencies, and higher education. The Department of Leadership, Technology and Human Development (http://coe.georgiasouthern.edu/lthd), one of four departments within the College of Education, includes five distinct programs - Counselor Education, School Psychology, Educational Leadership, Adult Education, and Instructional Technology. The CACREP accredited program in Counselor Education offers graduate degrees at the master's level with concentrations in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling.

Position Description. Reporting to the department chair, the Assistant Professor of Counselor Education position requires teaching, service, and scholarship responsibilities, as well as a terminal degree. The position involves collaborating with faculty across the College of Education, supervising clinical experiences, and performing service to the department, college, university, and the professional community. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of an active research agenda involving regular publications and professional presentations in appropriate venues. The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program by August 1, 2019

• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a professional school counselor in elementary, middle, or high school settings

• Experience teaching face-to-face, online, or hybrid courses

• Ability to use and model technology in instruction and research

• Experience working with diverse student populations

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to offer graduate advisement

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive school counseling programs (i.e., ASCA National Model, RAMP, etc.)

• Active membership in professional counseling and school counseling associations

• Eligibility as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia
