Assistant Professor of Practice, Adult & Continuing Education

Nationally ranked and in its 95th year, Rutgers Graduate School of Education is part of New Jersey's flagship public university. Committed to advancing excellence and equity in education, the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick seeks an outstanding scholar, in either a full, 2/3 or part-time (50%) capacity, to join the school and Rutgers program faculty in the fully online EdM and related certificate programs in Adult and Continuing Education.

The EdM in Adult and Continuing Education is housed in the Department of Learning and Teaching at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. This fully online program, launched in 2015, is designed for individuals working in educational, non-profit, community-based, health care and corporate settings who wish to develop the knowledge and skills to effectively design, implement, assess, and evaluate learning experiences in formal and informal settings for adults. Graduates of the program gain conceptual and practical knowledge and skills to appropriately meet the needs of diverse adult learners in a range of learning and organizational contexts. The program also offers three certificate programs: Higher Education Teaching, Human Resources Development, and Adult ESL and Literacy Education.

The successful candidate will assume an active role in the ACE program and the GSE community. Responsibilities include teaching approximately 21 credits per calendar year (including summer), advisement, strategic program development, administrative duties, development of a vibrant alumni network, and service to the program, school, and field. The exact number of credits is dependent upon full, 2/3 or part-time (50%) status. Opportunities to teach graduate courses in other programs and in face-to-face settings may be possible.
