Associate or Director of Development, College of Science

Job Description
Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks an experienced Associate (ADOD) or Director of Development (DOD) for the College of Science to join the development team.

The ADOD or DOD will work directly with the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Executive Director of Development, Dean of the College of Science, and faculty/staff within the College of Science and Mackay School of Mines. In addition, the successful candidate will work with the College and Development and Alumni Relations to manage relationships and secure support from donors. The successful candidate will solicit gifts, provide stewardship, collaborate with the Dean and faculty to produce development proposals and assist DAR’s Alumni Association to engage alumni and friends. The ADOD or DOD will work with the College’s development team which currently includes a Director of Development.  Regional and national travel is expected and can range from 25 to 40% of an ADOD or DOD’s time. Evening and weekend work is required.

Additional Information
The College of Science includes the biology, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, and physics departments. The College also includes the Mackay School of Earth Sciences with departments in geography, geological sciences and engineering, and mining and metallurgical engineering. Mackay also has two statewide programs: the Nevada Seismological Lab and the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology. The College has over 150 faculty, 2,500 undergraduate students and over 500 graduate students seeking degrees.

Required Qualifications
Associate Director-Bachelor’s Degree and four years or a Master’s Degree and two years of professional experience
Director-Bachelor’s Degree and five years or a Master’s Degree and three years of professional experience

Salary
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and related experience
Associate Director of Development, $55,000-$65,000
Director of Development, $75,000-88,000
