Associate SHS Physician Manager

Position Information

Under the general direction of the Chief Physician, this position provides overall leadership for medical practice and delivery of clinical services to help University of California Riverside (UCR) students resolve or manage health related concerns so they can attain their academic and broad educational goals. Provides high quality, cost effective, accessible primary care, specialty care, ancillary medical, pharmaceutical and health education services for graduate and undergraduate students to support the mission of the health and wellness cluster, Division of Student Affairs, the University of California Riverside and the University of California system. The employee must comply with OSHA, CA/OSHA, and CDC recommendations and requirements regarding vaccination and testing of healthcare employees. This includes, but may not be limited to; current hepatitis B immunizations, annual flu vaccinations, and annual tuberculosis screening. At the discretion of Student Health Center, the employee may be offered an option to sign a declination acknowledgement in lieu of receiving an annual flu vaccination. Per the UC Ethics Briefing, the employee is responsible for reporting any and all potential conflicts of interest to their supervisor in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

Position requires advanced skills associated with the practice medicine and management of health services.
For positions associated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-10 Conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Has skills needed to provide quality health service programs to faculty, students and staff members.
Requires highly effective problem solving, and decision making skills.
Must have knowledge of HR-related policies and procedures.
Position must be able to work in a collaborative manner, and lead and influence others on matters of significance.
Must be computer literate.
Requires knowledge of electronic/medical records systems.
Requires knowledge essential to managing a health care unit and associated medical and clinical staff members.
Position must be able to establish priorities for unit, and provide direction and guidance to medical and clinical staff members.
Position requires highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Position requires knowledge of budget/fiscal processes of the campus.
Position requires skills associated with the practice medicine and management of health services.
Requires highly effective problem solving, and decision making skills.
