Position Information

An excellent opportunity to use your financial, human resources, and savvy operational management experience and skills to impact the health and wellness of UCR students. The Business Operations Manager will provide expertise and serve as the primary business manager for Student Health Services (SHS), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Student Affairs Case Management (SACM) departments. The Business Manager will work with the respective Department Directors to assist in formulating and administering policies and programs. This position functions as a financial, administrative, human resources, inventory and facilities expert. This position has full responsibility for effective staffing, accurate budgets, strong internal controls, well-managed inventories, and efficient space utilization. The Business Operations Manager oversees appropriate accountability and stewardship of university resources in a manner consistent with established best practice and mandatory compliance objectives. The Business Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations in developing and maintaining well-functioning and compliant operations. This will include, but not limited to: human resources, staffing, training, financial/budgetary, billing, ensuring the correct coding when designating patient diagnosis or visit information, policy making, patient satisfaction, and provider/employee engagement. Oversee the functions provided by the front office coordinators, medical assistants, and operational leads. Direct oversight of administrative areas such as registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, medical records storage and maintenance, facilities, insurance, and clinical support staff such as medical assistants.



Minimum Requirements

Proven ability to organize department work functions in an efficient and effective manner.
Demonstrated management and conflict resolution skills to effectively lead and motivate others.
Broad knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; and/or accounting and payroll.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence/persuade all levels of staff.
Skills to work collaboratively with other locations.
Proven skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify multiple options for resolution.
Ability to work well with a diverse population of staff and students using tact, diplomacy,and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to include verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Knowledge of practice operations, patient-scheduling systems, medical and insurance terminology, applicable information systems, patient service standards, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic/center operations.
Skills to supervise support staff in clinic/center administration, and to effectively establish and manage multiple priorities, goals and objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that serves a diverse client population.
Broad knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and/or personnel management under labor contract(s) and personnel policy.
Skills in organization and customer service to effectively manage multiple important priorities.Proven ability to organize department work functions in an efficient and effective manner.
Broad knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of campus policies, programs and initiatives relating to Health Care services provided to students, faculty and staff.
Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Must have project management and organizational leadership skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of HR-related policies and procedures. Knowledge of union contracts and preparation of contract negotiations, in consultation with Human Resources.
