Civil Engineering Lecturer

 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Southern Methodist University (SMU) seeks to fill the position of full-time civil engineering lecturer (Position Number 5728). This position entails two primary responsibilities: (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering and mechanics, such as CEE 2310 Statics, CEE 4350 Concrete Design, CEE 4380/1 Senior Design, CEE 5/7365 Intro to Construction Management, CEE 5/7375 Advanced Concrete Design, CEE 5/7377 Advanced Steel Design, and CEE 5/7373 Prestressed Concrete) and (2) university/community service.

 

A major service task will involve advising undergraduate and graduate students in civil engineering. Applicants must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to student learning and education innovation.
