Clinical Instructor

Department of Sport & Entertainment Management

The Department of Sport & Entertainment Management (SPTE), within the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management (HRSM), at the University of South Carolina- Columbia; seeks to hire a full-time 12-month Clinical Instructor (non- tenure track) to primarily teach in its undergraduate internship program. Classes in the internship program include SPTE 195 - Sport and Entertainment Careers, SPTE 295 - Practicum, and SPTE 495 Internship in Sport and Entertainment Management. The successful candidate is expected to participate in other departmental and college initiatives related to student career success. The candidate will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with various organizations throughout the entertainment, event, sport, and venue industries to identify and help secure practicum and internship opportunities. The candidate will also provide service that is beneficial to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate must be student-oriented and possess strong leadership skills conducive to building a premier program in sport and entertainment management.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned Master's Degree in Sport/Entertainment Management, or a related field, with industry experience in the sport, live entertainment, venue, and/or event business.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned Master's or Terminal Degree in Sport/Entertainment Management, or related field, with industry experience in the sport, live entertainment, venue, and/or event business; two or more years of experience overseeing undergraduate internships.
