Communications Coordinator

Assist with development and implementation of both short and long-term communications plans for the Conway Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (CIEC) and Design Thinking Initiative (DTI). Apply creative energy and technical knowledge to maximize impact of all digital communications platforms including the website, social media and email marketing tools. Contribute to design and editorial process of print publications and collateral materials. Collaborate with CIEC/DTI colleagues to determine effectiveness of each initiative and act to alter strategic messaging when needed. Help to identify best methods for reaching both internal and external audiences. Work with collateral and social media marketing student interns.

Brand Development: In collaboration with the CIEC Program Director and DTI Co-Director develop a cohesive brand identity for both entities and determine monthly marketing plan.

Collateral Materials: Assist in the production of online and print publications; work with department directors and outside vendors to ensure timely and effective production of publications.

Social Media: Assist in growing social media presence on CIEC/DTI platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube; work toward outreach to prospective student competitors in national business plan competition, increasing alumni engagement, informing current students about CIEC/DTI notices and events and communicating accomplishments. Monitor analytics in order to compile and submit regular traffic updates

Website: Regularly create and update content as outlined in monthly marketing plan or as needed; develop news and events content; integrate social media platforms; initiate/find/place photos to effectively pique interest and convey accurate messages; brainstorm new ideas for maximizing site's capabilities.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree in journalism, marketing, communications or related field and three year's relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Skills: Must have comprehensive knowledge of communications concepts; demonstrated capacity with writing and editing; knowledge and experience working with websites, Drupal and Hubspot in particular. Knowledge of and design experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with people of all backgrounds and multiple departments on campus, ability to exercise sound judgment, creativity, and vision are preferred.

This is a 1 year, limited-term, half-time, grant funded position.
