Data Analyst

American University of the Caribbean (AUC) is actively seeking a dynamic Data Analyst to join thier team in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

The Data Analyst is responsible for providing value through data analysis for University wide initiatives. They collect, analyze, and interpret data, and develop recommendations and present summary findings to the Marketing department leadership and other groups with the University as needed. The Data Analyst will participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets identifying, examining, and reporting on performance improvement opportunities within Marketing. S/he will work with the Project Manager, IT staff, and Marketing management to ensure data integrity. The Data Analyst supports University upgrades and modifications to current technology with respect to Marketing.

  • Works with the IT department to develop and implement new reporting tools and automate processes within the University, focusing on the Marketing department.
  • Contribute to integrated marketing strategy by analyzing and reporting on performance of online marketing channels.
  • Create and develop smart, compelling reports that track KPIs and provide actionable recommendations for marketing and admission.
  • Produces operational reports in collaboration with staff and/or management, including ad hoc reports using data from multiple sources as necessary.
  • Liaison between Information Management department and Marketing group to design, document, test, and implement system changes to maximize our technology investment.
  • Facilitates business decisions related to systems by ensuring decision makers have all the necessary information. Documents the decision for future reference.
  • Provides primary problem diagnosis related to systems/data and coordinates resolution ensuring root cause is determined and proposed solutions are implemented as appropriate.
  • Learns new applications as necessary. Able to learn from system documentation and side by side observations. Document appropriate procedures, instructions, and rules to share knowledge and create standards.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Analytics or a related field.
  • 2 years prior experience working with databases, reporting on data and working in an analytical capacity.
  • Advanced Excel skills including proficiency pivot tables, reports, graphs, and more
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts (SQL).
  • Prior experience working in an institution of higher education, preferably in a Registrar or Admissions environment.
  • Experience with reporting tools (Tableau, Cognos, etc.), web analytics tools (Google or Adobe analytics) and CRM solutions (SalesForce)
  • Experience working with digital marketing data preferred
  • Ability to build consensus across multiple functional and technical organizations.
  • Ability to learn new skills and work in a fast changing environment.
  • Critical thinking skills with the aptitude to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are a must.
