Job Description:

Serving as the college's chief financial aid and scholarships administrator, the incumbent in this position is responsible for the strategic direction of financial aid and scholarships in order to advance College-wide student success. Responsible for the development of strategic awarding of all types of financial aid and scholarships, including significant collaboration with the Columbus State Foundation and external foundations and funding sources.

This position is a primary leader in the college's student financial stability strategies, especially in the areas of financial access and financial literacy initiatives. Provides leadership and maintains accountability for Financial Aid compliance to federal and state regulations and College policies and practices. Serves as administrator of record for all federal and state reporting and with U.S. Department of Education and Ohio Department of Higher Education contacts.

1) As the chief financial aid and scholarship administrator, this position initiates strategy, collaborates with College leadership to develop scholarship awarding criteria, develops and implements a set of robust financial aid and scholarship award strategies to leverage funds and maximize outcomes based on College recruitment, access, diversity, equity, persistence, and completion goals. Develops loan awarding
criteria to support financial stability of students while minimizing loan indebtedness.

2) Effectively implements analysis tools to measure outcomes of strategic initiatives and develops trend analyses to inform decisions.

3) Develops scholarship modeling for College and Foundation funds.

4) Serves as liaison for Enrollment Services with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness.

5) Delivers data and analyses to various audiences in the form of written and verbal presentations.

6) Recommends policy and business practices to support the effectiveness of the awarding of aid.

7) Collaborates with Director of Integrated Systems to operationalize awarding of aid. Collaborates with the Director of Integrated Processing to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Collaborates with the Director of Integrated Advising to develop and maintain support for financial stability for Columbus State students, including access to funding and programming for financial literacy and wellness. Collaborates with the Directors of Student Central and the Telephone Information Center to inform students of financial rules, requirements, and procedures.

8) Monitors federal, state, and college funding levels. Responsible for completion of all federal and state reporting, including FISAP, Program Participation Agreements, and IPEDS. Ensures adherence to audit requirements and complies with audit requests.

9) Complies with record retention rules. Maintains confidentiality of student records.

10) Monitors federal and state legislative mandates and determines potential changes to the student aid environment and informs College leadership as appropriate.

11) Serves as knowledge resource for all federal and state financial aid regulations and College policies and practices and ensures compliance. Coordinates College-wide and student-level communications regarding financial aid. Serves as integral member of Enrollment Management and Student Services leadership team.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee regularly sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Education, Administration, Student Personnel, or a closely related field with at least five years' progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
