Title: Director, Welcome Center

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Welcome Center is responsible for overseeing the student enrollment experience at Nashville State’s student welcome center on the Whitebridge Road Campus and coordinating similar services on the College’s extended campuses throughout its service region.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership, management and operational strategies to advance Welcome Center goals and initiatives. Supervises Welcome Center staff. Engages in both short and long-term planning for the delivery of student services, including establishing a process for continuously evaluating the student experience to evolve services and improve student satisfaction. Directs the delivery of new student orientation to students via in-person, virtual and online formats. Coordinates one-stop enrollment services for new students, including admissions, financial aid and career exploration and development.

Provides strategic direction, planning and oversight for functional operations of student recruitment and outreach, from initial student inquiries through application. Supports student outreach via the College’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, continually assessing effectiveness and developing new strategies for more effective outreach. Plans and manages on-campus and off-campus recruiting, including high school recruiting events, and maintains appropriate relationships with area high schools and community partners to facilitate recruiting. Creates and manages the department budget.

Collaborates with other departments, such as financial aid, admissions and records and the student success center, ensure Welcome Center staff are trained on the most up-to-date information and processes. Plans, markets and communicates upcoming Welcome Center events. Manages student communication strategies and arranges sufficient staff to support communication delivery methods, including phone calls, mailings, emails, texts and web. Leads the redesign of policies, processes and practices to support staff knowledge, awareness and decision-making. Proactively seeks solutions to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree.

Five (5) years’ experience leading or coordinating services in a high school or college setting.

Three (3) years’ experience in a student services role in a higher education environment.

Prior management-level experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in higher education, management or leadership.

Experience with Ellucian/Banner student management system and Slate CRM.

Experience managing a college one-stop center for students.

General knowledge of financial aid programs.

Two (2) years’ experience in a financial aid or admissions office.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to develop, interpret and utilize enrollment data reports.

Rate of Pay: $63,619 - $79,524 depending on experience
