Executive Assistant




Highland Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Executive Assistant. This position supports the Student Development Division of the College and the vice president of student development and support services by completing administrative tasks. This position will need to make important judgements about the urgency of student related situations and concerns, as well as providing confidentiality as a liaison to the vice president.  This position will be responsible for supporting the High School Servant Leadership program and assisting with the coordination of the student activities program, interacting with students and being present for activities including booking talent, working with faculty and staff to develop events, and handling student activity and club-related financial documents.  This position also supports the marketing and community relations department and director by completing all of the financial documents, check requests, purchase orders, etc.  This position may also assist other areas of the division such as during special projects or one-stop coverage in peak periods.


Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are essential.  The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and organizational and multi-tasking skills. Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software applications a must.  This position works with a diverse population of students and staff.


High School diploma required with a minimum of three years executive office experience.  Experience working in a confidential environment essential.  Associate’s degree preferred.  An understanding of student support services such as admissions and records, academic advising, and disability services processes is a plus.  Criminal background check required.
