Faculty Data Manager

This role is responsible for providing the institutional research needs of the Division of Biology and Medicine. This position is also responsible for managing a faculty data coordinator in BioMed Faculty Affairs.

This position will provide faculty data reporting, maintenance and analysis to serve the Division's faculty Information and reporting needs. Responsible for collecting, validating, editing, analyzing and disseminating data and information about BioMed faculty including drafting reports for internal and external constituents and accrediting agencies. Develop create solutions to dashboard statistics used by Deans, Chairs, Provost's Office, Institutional Reporting and the Dean of Faculty. Participate in Workday Faculty data reporting subcommittees. Work with fellow data manages across the University to better coordinate data collection and external reporting demands. Work to automate frequently-needed reports. The current data systems the incumbent will be responsible for include but are not limited to: Workday, FIS, [email protected], Academic Analytics, Interfolio, faculty salary review system, faculty sabbatical system, and the faculty activity reporting.

Responsible for ensuring the coordinated completion of reporting including, but not limited to AAMC (Faculty Rosters and Annual Salary Surveys), USNews, IPEDS, Faculty Census, LCME and AAUP. Also responsible for quarterly/annual reporting to the Corporation, the President, the Provost, and the Dean of Faculty on faculty appointments, promotions, searches and other relevant actions.


• Bachelor's degree and 5 -7 years of closely related experience in an institution of higher education or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Job Competencies:

• Highly developed quantitative skills in data analysis. Statistical training desirable. Logical thinking skills.

• Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and databases. Familiarity with database design practices, desktop reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, COGNOS, FileMaker Pro, Brio) and demonstrated ability to use structured query language (SQL).

• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data management and information systems problems.

• Strong organizational, analytical, time management and problem solving skills.

• Highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.

• Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively; strong data presentation skills.

• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently to manage projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Attention to detail, judgment and discretion.
