Financial Coordinator

The Financial Coordinator is responsible to initiate financial transactions, and works closely with and under the supervision of the Manager of Finance to oversee the financial operations for the Student Activities Office, including the management of the Student Activities Fee, overall, a $4.4 million operation, ensuring that financial practices conform to University policies. The Financial Coordinator follows internal procedures and protocols and plays a critical leadership role in support of budget management and analysis as well as customer service. ​

Job Qualifications:

  • BA degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills required
  • Advance knowledge and experience with Excel required
  • Experience working with complex financial data and ability to handle large amounts of data required
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills required
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure
  • Flexible to change and interruptions, manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Experience with cash handling
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong computer aptitude for learning new software
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds required
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
