Grants and Financial Coordinator

This position provides high-level administrative pre and post award and financial services to the Carney Institute for Brain Science. This Coordinator's role serves as the liaison between other department's financial policies, procedures, and services. He/She will have sufficient understanding of the Institute's programs and services and the processes and resources required to support them, to serve as a resource and advisor to the Directors, Administrator, faculty and staff regarding grant budgets, proposal preparation and grant management. Effectively communicates award and financial policies to staff and faculty. He/She will also advise on the allocation of resources and assist with short- and long-term financial planning. Assigned as Cost Center Manager (with Department Manager) and Financial Coordinator Workday roles.


• BA/BS degree and a minimum of 3-5 years accounting or finance experience, preferably in a university setting or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Strong spreadsheet, database and general computing skills a must
• Ability to maintain confidential material and professional demeanor required
• Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of pre and post administration of research contracts and grants, including familiarity with NIH grants policy statement, OMB Circulars A110, A21 and A133 and related grant management requirements preferred.
• Workday experience preferred
