Instructor/Assistant Professor of Sociology

Position Summary

The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in Sociology with at least 3 years college or university level teaching experience. Assistant Professor position applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Sociology. The applicant will teach various courses at the undergraduate level as needed for a full time teaching position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach 4-5 classes at the undergraduate level
  • Utilize innovative teaching techniques in the instructional setting
  • Use technology to enhance student learning
  • Advise and register students
  • Recruit majors for the department
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience

What you will need to be successful!

  • Master's in Sociology required for Instructor position
  • Ph.D. in Sociology required for Assistant Professor position
  • 3 years teaching at the college or university level is required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dedicated to providing quality instruction for all students
