International Programs Team Manager

Status: Full-time, exempt
Schedule: 37.5 hrs/week, M-F, 8.30a.m. 4.30p.m, with a 30 minute lunch break. Note: This is an exempt position, and as such may require occasionalevening and weekend work. Due to the time difference between Chicago and the Centers, there may be also be a need to work outside of core hours. Early-morning/evening hours may be necessary.

Summary of position:

The International Programs Team Manager supervises the Program Associate Team, department interns and manages projects related to educational technology and to academic programs. This position coordinates processes and workloads within the Academics department, working closely with the Deans and representatives from other departments.

Experience & Qualifications/Skills:

  • Minimum of 3+ year's related work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education
  • High level of professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Proficiency in a foreign language offered on one or more IES program
  • supervisory experience/skills required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong team leader: represents the department, the Program Associate team and motivates its members
  • Exceptional team player: proactive and responsible with the ability to learn rapidly
  • Demonstrated experience in project management processes including planning tasks, resource allocation, risk management, time management, monitoring and reporting, documenting and record keeping.
  • Proven track record in prioritizing a heavy workload
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on intercultural competence and the ability to maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders required
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to multitask and to prioritize activities to successfully complete projects on tight deadlines with little supervision.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (including Excel, Project, and Publisher) and database literacy
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in a simple and straightforward way for non-technical audiences required.
  • Strong editing and proof-reading skills
  • Participation in a study abroad program or experience living/working overseas
  • Prior experience editing publications for print or web

Education Licenses and/or Certifications etc.:

  • A master's degree or above in a relevant administrative field or academic discipline or related experience, which includes work in higher education, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
