Job Description:

1) Under direction of Facilities Operations Director, serves as Quality and Standards (Performance) Manager for Facilities Operations: Uses process mapping, design, process measurement, data analysis and improvement strategies to provide leadership and accountability for continuous improvement of operation. Leads, develops and the implements strategic quality initiatives and department performance goals.

2) Responsible for oversight of compliance and quality initiatives: supervises assigned staff (e.g. approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate; conducts annual employee evaluations, recommends pay increases, promotions and other personnel actions; participates in employee selection process, orients and trains staff); reviews and develops processes for efficient operations to meet the needs of campus staff, faculty and students; collaborates with other campus services and departments. Works in cooperation with other key areas of the College (e.g. Equity & Compliance, Police Department, Information Technology, etc.).

3) Establishes quality metrics monitoring, trending, response, and promotion to corrective actions as appropriate. Promotes a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization; partners effectively with facilities leadership and staff to ensure quality standards are being met.

4) Maintains confidential information, and maintains contracts, financial records and other sensitive subject matter. Attends, prepares and presents training and presentations.

5) Provides oversight for Computerized Maintenance Management System (MMS). This includes inventory management of department inventories and supplies. measures trends associated with college fleet, utility usage and janitorial services.

6) Works assigned schedule; exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Employee occasionally lifts or exerts force on items, with varying weights up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions with occasional exposure to dirt, dust, debris and smells. Regular exposure to wet, humid or other outdoor weather conditions. Employee may have occasional exposure to minor cuts, burns or other incapacitating injury. Risk of exposure to electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles is regular. Employee occasionally works near moving parts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: management principles and practices [intermediate level]. Skill in: verbal and written communications. Ability to: apply management principles to practical situations within a single department or functional area; maintain confidential and sensitive information; develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public and other job contacts; work with and effectively manage persons of varying cultures and diversity.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for this position are: Associate's Degree or equivalent education/training with at least 3 years management or supervisory experience in Facility Management, Business Administration, Skilled Trades or a related field; OR, at least five years of Facilities Management experience. Must possess current valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator's License as a condition of initial and continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications: 3-years' experience as a Lean/Process Excellence leader with a proven track record managing and mentoring organizations towards a continuous improvement culture. Experience in a formal lean management system (similar to Toyota Production System, Honeywell Operating System, Parker Lean System, Danaher Business System) also preferred.
