Manager, Supply Management

This role, reporting within the Supply Management Organization, will be responsible for reviewing, managing, and negotiating commercial agreements (including service agreements, supply agreements, NDAs, etc.) in a timely fashion, maintaining and organizing executed agreements, and recommending and implementing improvements to the contract process where appropriate. The role will negotiate routine agreements directly with suppliers and will work with Adtalem attorneys on more complex agreements. The role will require a positive attitude, teamwork, and strong project management skills to advance multiple projects to completion and work seamlessly across all business units to ensure quick turnaround of agreements. The role will involve reviewing agreements for a variety of functional areas (marketing, human resources, IT agreements including SaaS and licensing).

 

  • Review, Negotiation and Execute commercial agreements: Non-Disclosure Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Cloud Agreements.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal business owners / SMEs and suppliers on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations.
  • On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provide redlined recommendations and often negotiate directly with supplier attorneys or supplier representatives until consensus is reached.
  • As needed, provide guidance on contract matters to internal business owners, including training in contracting practices and procedures.
  • Adhere to procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
  • Monitor compliance by company employees with established procedures. Identify areas of recurrent pressure.
  • Work with IT Security / Data Privacy / Risk Management contractual requirements; Manage routine contractual matters unaided and work with Adtalem Legal for more complex issues.
  • Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility, awareness, and interpretation to support implementation.
  • Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.

  • Be responsible for the use of the contract management repository for purposes of managing workflow, tracking contracts, providing metrics and retaining accurate contract records.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

 



EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 or more years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts

  • Knowledge of terms and conditions in commercial contracts; understanding of contract management procedures; skilled at reviewing terms & conditions and identifying risk areas.
  • Strong negotiation skills gained through relevant prior work experience.
  • Assertive and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal business owners; willing to engage suppliers and internal business owners to close out open matters; able topersuasively negotiate with suppliers while remaining positive and professional.
