RESPONSIBILITIES: The Office of Research Services (ORS) is the primary department responsible for all matters related to externally-funded projects and programs at MTSU. ORS provides programs and services for the purposes of increasing sponsored activity across campus; supporting sponsored-programs-active faculty and staff throughout the continuum of project development, funding search, proposal submission, and award administration; and ensuring compliance with University and sponsor policies, procedures and other requirements.

 

Under direct supervision from the Director of the Office of Research Services, the Program Manager is responsible for the effectiveness and implementation of ongoing or recurring programs facilitated or conducted by the Office of Research Services, and other special projects as may be assigned by the Director. The Program Manager will develop and maintain program content; organize meetings and events; facilitate meetings; manage intramural grant programs; conduct training of faculty, administrators, and staff across campus; produce multi-media communications; conduct information management and analyses; and conduct evaluation and assessment of ORS programs.

 

Ongoing or recurring programs include the Undergraduate Research Experience and Creative Activities grant program (in concert with the URECA faculty committee), Faculty Research and Creative Activity grant program (in concert with the FRCAC faculty committee), Intellectual Property Management (in concert with the University’s Intellectual Property Advisory Committee), Institutional Biosafety Committee, Scholars Week Plenary Poster Session, Grant Writing Enhancement Program, Principal Investigator Training and Certification, Time & Effort Certification; and Office of Research Services communications.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Masters degree in public administration, business management, organizational management, economics, a STEM field, or other relevant field.  Four years project management, team leadership, and deadline/outcome oriented work required. Bachelor’s degree and seven years experience may be substituted.  Experience in higher education and/or research preferred.

 

SALARY RANGE: $43,350 - $54,259; commensurate with experience
