1) Develops and manages a plan and program for institutional research in financial aid, admissions, and enrollment management. Meets with stakeholders to develop assessment plans, regularly presents results to college groups.

2) Develops understanding of business processes and related data in financial aid, admissions, and enrollment management; documents data needs and processes, and supports team operations with that knowledge.

3) Designs, maintains and manipulates specialized data sets and information systems to support research. Effectively translates user requirements into report designs to support business processes

4) Designs and creates effective visual/graphical presentation of data through interactive charts, dashboards, etc., as appropriate to a given project.

5) Develops and designs institutional research methodologies and applies appropriate computer tools, measures and data collection techniques related to enrollment and student success in
both credit and non-credit work.

6) Maintains knowledge of current state and national research trends, priorities and programs. Ensures that the college's research models position it to participate in state and federal government or private foundations' studies and initiatives related to increasing student success.

7) Recommends systems that address solutions to business needs, challenges and problems.

8) Identifies system strengths and weaknesses, and suggests areas for improvement.

9) Develops research methodologies and strategies to collect and analyze data within standard practice of institutional research.

10) Maintains confidential or sensitive information.

11) Works assigned schedule exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

12) Performs other related duties as required.

Usual Physical Demands: The incumbent of this position typically exhibits the physical demands identified in the Functional Job Analysis on file in the College's Human Resources Department and which is periodically reviewed and updated. Physical demands listed in the Functional Job Analysis are not job qualification standards, but are used to help the College assess and determine reasonable accommodations for otherwise qualified individuals covered by the American's with Disabilities Act.

Employee frequently sits and walks, and occasionally stands and stoops. Employee occasionally uses hands to handle and feel, reaches with hands and arms. Employee lifts computers and other items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: database management and data querying; business systems and practices; systems and knowledge management; information architecture; emerging industry practices related to functional area; statistical analysis; research methods and resources. This position will focus on data related to financial aid, admissions, and enrollment management. Knowledge and experience in these areas required. Skill in: data preparation and data analysis; database and data analysis software such as MS SQL server, MS Reporting Services, Excel PowerPivot, SharePoint BI suite. Proficiency in data presentation software for creation, publication or presentation of graphics and tables. Ability to analyze and present institutional data results and analyses in electronic, web, graphical, presentation, or written formats. Ability to: plan, organize, conduct and participate in analytical studies. Analyze and interpret complex data, and communicate it effectively, both orally and in writing. Good listener and participant in collaborative work. Ability to: identify critical business issues, and recommend viable solutions; exhibit creativity in developing analytical strategies; evaluate and discern complex data and reach viable conclusions; develop and implement complex tasks; maintain confidential and sensitive information; develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in business systems, information technology, research, statistics, finance or other closely related field of study, or at least five years analysis and research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
