The Senior Research Assistant performs experiments from protocols outlined by the PI and will deviate from protocol when appropriate/necessary.  This work will focus on understanding the immunobiology of inflammatory lung diseases, including asthma, allergy, COPD, lung injury and lung fibrosis.  In particular, the candidate will study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of lung diseases. Individual will also provide lab maintenance specific to the project, including the ordering of supplies and equipment.

•    Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3-5 years relevant laboratory experience.
•    Extensive coursework in science and independent research experience.
•    Understanding of the importance of proper design, carrying out, and interpretation of scientific experiments.
•    Willingness to take instruction and training in specific techniques, and Environmental Health and Safety training.
•    Ability to interact and support other members of the laboratory
•    Ability to accurately describe and record experimental protocols and data.
•    Time management skills to be able to carry out multiple tasks in an appropriate amount of time.
•    Experience working with mice. Sterile technique and animal handling expertise.
•    Experience in sterile laboratory techniques helpful.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
