Student Finance/Debt Recovery Administrator


Under the direction of the Receivables Supervisor and the Student Account Center Manager, this position is responsible for the administration of Bad Debt activities on delinquent student accounts.

Must be able to work Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-7:00 PM
Must be flexible to working in Call Center Environment.




As a member of the Home Office Student Account Center, this position will require in depth knowledge of DeVry finance policies pertaining to student accounts that are in payment default, and administration of the subsequent third party recovery activity on these accounts. Some of the more essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:


  • Performs final review of delinquent student accounts to evaluate charge-off eligibility
  • Coordinates account assignment distribution to third party collections agencies of charged-off accounts
  • Manages recovery activities of all third party collections agencies
  • Administers adverse credit bureau reporting of delinquent student accounts
  • Manages all Student Account Center financial holds
  • Deals directly with students and campus staff in resolution attempts of delinquent accounts.
  • Maintains vendor relationships with third party collections agencies, ensuring compliancy with Federal collections regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of current SOX audit controls pertaining to Bad Debt charge-off policies
  • Provides documentation and support for internal and external audits
  • Provides cross-training for all Bad Debt management processes

Completes other duties as assigned.


High school diploma or equivalent required with some college preferred. At least one – two years related experience, preferably in an Accounts Receivable management environment. Excellent phone skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Computer skills in Microsoft Office, database software and internet applications. Must be a team player who is self-motivated and able to handle a large volume of work.
