Student Services Specialist II

The Student Services Specialist has responsibility for the administration of student resource content and process. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, this position will develop, implement, and track student resources designed to improve the student experience, support student transition and help students find information quickly. These solutions will ultimately impact student success, student satisfaction, and build a strong sense of community for the RUSM student population and internal RUSM Colleagues that provide advisement and support to students. This position reports to the Director, Student Services and is based in Miramar, Florida.


  • Works in conjunction with the Student Services team to develop and maintain web based student resources across all milestones in the RUSM student journey.
  • Collaborates with all business units to ensure that student resources are kept up to date and consistent information/messaging is provided to students.
  • Collaborates with all business units to identify opportunities for new elements to be developed and launched on the student timeline.
  • Working in conjunction with RUSM Marketing team, ensures that the overall portal solution is consistent with user navigation, mobile readiness and brand compliance.
  • Ensures that all content is reviewed and approved by regulatory and compliance and tracks all approvals.
  • Develops and implements new components into web-based student resource areas to continue to meet the needs of our student body. This will include the inclusion of multi-media, frequently asked questions (FAQ's) and other resources that will make information easier to find for students.
  • In conjunction with the Student Services team, primarily responsible for the layout of student resource areas for both basic sciences and clinical sciences which include the student portal and the student timeline
  • Responsible for all administrative and technical work in the student portal for clinical students. This includes HTML placement, driving user improvements and all coding related to the inclusion of content within the resources.
  • In conjunction with different departments, develops new collateral to ensure that we are continuing to offer students more resources and support in their journey and applying for residency.
  • Responsible for developing story board concepts to outline how future designs look for discussion and approval with business units.
  • Under the guidance of the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Operations and the Director of Student Services, participates in student focus groups and presentations to identify new build opportunities and ensure student feedback is a key component in new additions
  • In conjunction with the RUSM Marketing team, develops, implements, and maintains web-based solutions to help colleagues find consistent information on the student journey.
  • Responsible for establishing and delivering content changes within Service Level Agreements (SLA) to all stake-holders.
  • Responsible for tracking, communicating, and closing out requests that require updates to content on the student timeline.
  • Participate in discussions of future versions of the student timeline and upcoming solutions including new portal strategies
  • Actively participates in appropriate associations, committees and activities related to student resource solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in higher education administration, marketing, communications, college student development, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Student Services or Student Affairs preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Strong Web based, HTML coding based experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a broad mix of business units
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
