Job Description:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. 1) Provides computer and audio visual services and completes work orders. Installs hardware, software, printers and other equipment.

2) Moves or replaces inefficient or inoperative equipment, images, hard drives and laptops; transfers user files and other duties. Maintains IT equipment through regularly scheduled quality control tasks.

3) Details and support AV/PC technology for campus events, programs and conferences. Provides technical consultation for events, provides technical support on location at events.

4) Diagnoses and resolves high-level hardware and software issues. Analyzes trouble shoots and fixes problems. Opens work orders by discovering problems.

5) Receives incoming requests from CSCC Support Center or equipment request system for PC/AV support and processes these requests as work orders or electronic reservations.

6) Maintain data and computer security. Backs-up data files, anchors equipment tracks and verifies purchase orders and serial numbers and monitors inventory.

7) Repairs IT equipment during maintenance efforts and in response to work orders or campus needs. Troubleshoots and re-configures IT equipment to meet the needs of Administrators, Staff, Faculty or Students.

8) Provides training in use of IT technology (laptops, projectors, Smart Classrooms etc.).

9) Participates in forecasting IT trends in technology through research, vendor relationships, industry publications and networking. Assess applications on campus and advises and supports implementation of these technologies in an effort to further the college mission.

10) Supports the recording, edits and distributions of media content to support campus initiatives.

11) Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation including activity logs, inventory tracking forms and work orders.

12) Works assigned schedule; exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee regularly sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks and uses hands to hold and control equipment and tools. The employee regularly reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Employee regularly converses with others in person. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee lifts or exerts force of varying weight of up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to dirt, dust, debris, smells and outdoor weather conditions when moving or installing equipment. Employee is occasionally exposed to minor cuts, burns or other incapacitating injury and risk of electrical shock. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: Instructional technology; technical equipment components and functions; technical equipment installation processes. Skill in: performing basic level technical tasks in academic technology support; installing technical equipment; testing, troubleshooting and resolving basic level technical equipment operating problems; calibrating technical equipment; analytical thinking; application of job related computer software; operation of job-related equipment and other equipment; customer service. Ability to: develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity; perform light physical labor for extended periods of time

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in a technical field of study closely related to the function of the position and at least one year experience in a closely related technical field. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
