World Civilization/Political Science Instructor

World Civilization/Political Science Instructor

Highland Community College, located in northwest Illinois, is seeking to fill an opening for a full-time tenure-track instructor in World Civilization and Political Science beginning the spring 2019 semester. This position will teach 15 contact hours or more each week (fall and spring semesters) and fulfill other duties included in a full-time faculty position. Ability to effectively teach the World Civilization survey, a Non-Western specialty, and Political Science courses is required. Master's degree in History emphasizing a non-western specialty, and 18 + graduate hours in Political Science required. Candidates with a Master's degree in History emphasizing a non-western specialty and a Master's degree in Political Science preferred. Candidates must meet both the History and Political Science requirements to be considered for the position. Successful teaching experience at post-secondary preferred; community college experience ideal. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience in alternative delivery modes preferred.
