This includes but is not limited to safety and security procedures, first aid, fire safety, the legal aspects of their responsibilities, and other duties. </li><li>May be called upon to direct appropriate emergency responses during campus emergencies such as fires, weather related events, or any other hazard that occurs at the University. </li><li>Provide information to students, faculty, staff, and the public regarding security and parking issues. </li><li>Assist in providing crime prevention programs and other related services for University community. </li><li>Work with the Risk management and other departments to identify and eliminate security and safety hazards on the campus. </li><li>Assist in the coordination, data entry, use of the software for card access of campus buildings and classrooms. </li><li>Assist in the operation and maintenance of public safety security devices, vehicles and equipment. </li><li>May be required to interact with the news media as an official representative of the University </li><li>Conduct employee performance evaluations. </li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Required Knowledge and Skills <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with five years’ experience with Law Enforcement, Fire Services or Emergency Medical Services (EMS). High school degree/ GED equivalent with ten years’ experience with Law Enforcement, Fire Services or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will also be considered. </li><li>Supervisory experience. </li><li>Strong organizational and administrative ability with excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills. </li><li>Knowledge of first responder procedures and response to emergency situations. </li><li>Excellent listening, observational and interview skills with strong social perceptiveness.
