This position will be responsible for supporting brand strategy for KCTCS and including umbrella of initiatives under Workforce and Economic Development, such as TRAINS, Workforce Solutions, Education First Employers and Handshake. <center><img style="margin:0 auto;display:block" src="https://www.jobelephant.com/banners/4001453.gif"> Assistant Professor of Religious Studies (Fall 2025)</center> UIW Mission Position Summary The Department of Religious Studies invites full-time, tenure-track, faculty candidates for Assistant Professor of Religious Studies within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences beginning August 2025. Full-time faculty at UIW are expected to teach four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. We are seeking candidates with research and teaching competence in the area of biblical studies focusing on current interpretative trajectories and/or pushing disciplinary boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to incorporate Latino/a and/or indigenous theology into biblical scholarship and teaching. Familiarity with the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, broadly defined, is desired. UIW is designated as an HSI, and its student population is diverse by many measures. We are especially interested in candidates with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from a variety of backgrounds, including first-generation, low income, and racial and ethnic minorities. Essential Functions <ol> <li>Participate in curriculum development and advancement of the respective program.</li> <li>Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.</li> <li>Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive undergraduate course lectures in Religious Studies which align with curriculum goals. Note that all FT faculty in the department are regularly expected to teach UIW's introductory course, RELS 1330 “The Word in the World” that provides a general introduction to theology and religious studies within UIW's cultural, geographical, and historical location. Flexibility is expected, as course assignments are based on student and department needs, so multiple course preparations are to be expected.</li> <li>Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive in upper-level courses in the area of specialty. New faculty are encouraged to develop new courses reflecting interests.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.</li> <li>Prepare timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses.</li> <li>Advise and mentor students; provide individual assistance to students during weekly office hours.</li> <li>Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course. 8.
