Our department is an academic hospital-based practice that encourages engagement in active collaborative research programs appropriate to title series and rank. The primary responsibilities of this individual will be to provide administrative leadership as the Director of Surgical Pathology as the section director for the histology and surgical pathology laboratories; provide clinical subspecialty surgical pathology services; provide classroom teaching to students and clinical teaching to residents, and to participate in scholarly initiatives of the Department and the College of Medicine. There is a strong preference for a candidate with demonstrated leadership capacity and the ability to become a senior department leader. The division has 24 surgical pathologists who provide coverage to 1,086 licensed beds at Chandler Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital at the north end of campus.
