POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term appointment reporting to the department chair of Technologies. The Cisco Networking Academy faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction in networking and information technology courses as part of the Cisco Networking Academy program. The faculty member will prepare students for Cisco certifications and provide them with essential knowledge and skills in networking, cybersecurity, and related technologies. Job Duties

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the management of assigned financial aid program(s) to include assisting with administration, processing, verifying eligibility, awarding, monitoring, and adjusting awards each semester; reconciling accounts; maintaining institutional compliance as required by program proponent organization and applicable statutes; and maintaining the student information system/Banner as related to assigned program(s).</li>
<li>Assist customers, via email, call center escalations, phone or walk-ins, with general questions about financial aid programs, processes, eligibility, refunds, impact of withdrawal or over awards. Elevates complex questions to Financial Aid Counselors or Financial Aid management.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assist students and parents who require assistance with navigating the financial aid process or financial aid programs</li>
<li>Maintain and update the financial aid chatbot</li>
<li>Review documents received for accuracy and completeness</li>
<li>Maintains files accurately, in paper and/or electronic formats. Assists with the Records Retention and Destruction of financial aid data in accordance with established statutes and guidelines</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA and financial aid programs</li>
<li>Maintains detailed current knowledge of federal/state/local/institutional financial aid programs, policies, procedures and funds</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with students, parents, high school counselors, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, including but not limited to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system(s) (Banner), word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, database, and internet</li>
<li>Make presentations to diverse stakeholders including groups of staff, parents and students</li>
<li>Ability to use an imaging system to scan, index, and retrieve financial aid data and documentation</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, outside governmental and community agencies, and the general public</li>
<li>Ability to contribute to a student focused environment and knowledge of college resources</li>

Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in a qualifying field along with demonstrated competencies in HVAC or a closely related field.&nbsp; Candidates without the Associate degree may be considered with documentation of the following:&nbsp; * professional certification (national, regional or state) * professional employment/experience&nbsp; * teaching excellence * other competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.
