As the technical designer you will work in collaboration with professors and staff as they assist fashion students in turning ideas into finished products, anticipating any design issues and liaising with students to ensure garments adhere to the established specifications, and that the end results are high-quality, marketable products. In this position you are expected to offer expert technical support in specialized technical design room areas of fabric preparation, pattern layout and marking, garment assembly, and pressing while demonstrating industrial sewing, hand sewing, and fine finishing techniques. Responsibilities include regularly preparing fabric and patterns and supporting the department's needs. &nbsp;In this role, you will help develop, update, and utilize the library of blocks and patterns to ensure standards are being met to support the best fit and help students expedite their production process. You must measure samples, compare construction, and collaborate and establish professional working relationships. Responsibilities include assisting the fashion department with presenting and conducting fits on live models to ensure fitting of garments and apply possible adjustments, recommending materials and relevant finishing techniques to students, and working on the digital fabric printer. Additionally you will help students with creating spec sheets, evaluating sample prototypes, and inspire performance solutions in constructing high-quality garments.&nbsp;The ideal candidate must be able to maintain a professional environment in&nbsp;specialized studio areas and offer extra help sessions and workshops. They must create supplementary materials for online student access while demonstrating strong knowledge of the entire product development process to assist fashion students in making the best decisions to achieve their desired results, maintaining the integrity of the design concept. All online courses at The Chicago School are 7 weeks long and are taught in the Canvas Learning Management System.The Clinical Psychopharmacology Program is seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach the following courses:<ul><li>Clinical Anatomy and Integrated Science</li><li>Advanced Pathophysiology</li><li>Clinical Biochemistry and Neurochemistry</li><li>Pharmacology</li><li>Advanced Physical Assessment</li><li>Diagnostic Methods (i.e., laboratory and neuroradiological imaging</li></ul>Principal Duties:The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty members is to enrich courses by sharing theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject, encouraging direct application to the workplace within the field of Clinical Psychopharmacology.All Online adjunct faculty members at The Chicago School are expected to be available (online) and responsive to students five out of seven days during the course of the week. This “availability” includes:<ul><li>Active participation in the discussion forum;</li><li>Posting course-related announcement(s);</li><li>Timely grading of assignments and providing quality feedback;</li><li>Holding virtual office hours.</li></ul>In addition, it is expected that all adjunct faculty members adhere to the following duties during a 7-week term:<ul><li>Posting a welcome message to all students outlining weekly virtual office hours.</li><li>Creating a video welcome message and post to Canvas course site.</li><li>Holding one voluntary conference call or synchronous chat each term, either via Skype or GoToMeeting software (account information provided by the Department Manager).</li><li>Responding to each student’s initial post in a discussion forum.</li><li>Grading quizzes and providing feedback on short assignments within 48 hours.</li><li>Providing grading and feedback on larger assignments within 3 days after due date.</li><li>Responding to all student email(s) within 24 hours.</li><li>Issuing final grade on time (by Tuesday midnight after Week 7 ends).</li><li>All online adjunct faculty are required to complete an 8-week training course reviewing online pedagogy best practices prior to teaching their assigned courses.</li></ul>Position Qualifications:<ul><li>Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Medical Studies, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related discipline</li><li>Formal degree in Pharmacology or Clinical Psychopharmacology</li><li>Professional license preferred (pharmacy, physician, or prescribing psychologist)</li><li>Board Certification preferred</li><li>Previous online teaching experience (3 years preferred);</li><li>Exemplary professional experience</li><li>Engagement in research and scholarship (preferred)</li></ul>The department seeks an individual who has the ability and interest in contributing to a community committed to student-centeredness, professional development and scholarship, integrity and ethics, respect for diversity and pluralism, innovation, flexibility, and teamwork and collaboration.
