Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Temp Part-Time/CDL Staff Instructor is to coordinate, promote, and deliver customized Class A, CDL training (instruction) for students in a credit program on the Knox Campus and Harlan Campus.




Job Duties:
• Teach Class A, CDL training to students from a variety of backgrounds. Must be present on campus or training site for teaching. • Comply with all state and federal CDL/DOT requirements. Ensure program standards meet the Federal and State Training Provider Registry Requirements. • Assist with instructional training modules and monitor student skills/progress while maintaining student files. Track student completion and learning outcomes including grades, graduation requirements, and performance tracking. • Assist with counseling students concerning the program, their progress and completion requirements. • Escort students to Kentucky State Police testing facility and prepare them for successful completion of the Class A, CDL driving test. • Participate in student and employer recruiting as well as participate in team planning meetings. • Other duties as assigned 




Minimum Qualifications:
• Must hold a valid Kentucky Class A, CDL license with a minimum of 5 years driving experience and over-the-road CDL driving experience. • Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to diverse populations and situations that arise. Ability to think quickly and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations. • Excellent organizational skills, time management, flexibility, and attention to detail. Ability to remain apprised of current industry standards and state laws and regulations. • In-depth knowledge of and ability to teach every aspect of truck driving. Classroom, road and range instruction experience is preferred.&nbsp;

<li>Administer/proctor tests for students and outside organizations.</li>
<li>Utilize Banner to record and submit grades and attendance (tardiness and absences) daily.</li>
<li>Distribute student syllabus at the beginning of the course to define course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to student success by providing guidance to students regarding course progress, and academic and disciplinary issues.</li>
<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with administration and Student Services Coordinator.</li>
<li>Coordinate the need for supplies with the instructor and make recommendations for items needed for the program.</li>

SPECIFIC DUTIES

<li>Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>
<li>Perform student surveys each trimester.</li>
<li>Participate in regularly scheduled staff climate surveys.</li>
<li>Check and respond to emails twice daily.</li>
<li>Coordinate necessary absences with VP of Operations and to coincide with student breaks.</li>
<li>Work a maximum of 20 hours per week.</li>

Tutors work with Disability Services, Writing Centers, Math Labs, and as imbedded peer tutors in certain courses. Tutors are needed for all campuses in a variety of subjects.

Minimum Qualifications:
A student with the ability to communicate and work well with others. Students will need to demonstrate knowledge level by attaching an unofficial copy of transcripts to his/her/their application. This can be cut and pasted from the student’s MyMotlow account or uploaded as an attachment. Students seeking employment in the Writing Centers will also need to attach a 2-10 page writing sample to his/her/their application.
Grades of B or higher are often required in specific courses to be hired as a paid tutor.
