Job Summary

Provide academic advising to students. Determine the best approach (intrusive, prescriptive, proactive) to advise each advisee by studying data characteristics and degree resource programs such as myUKGPS, AET and APEX. Evaluate all assessment plans sent to advisors regarding their individual students and develop a proactive plan for reaching students at risk, first generation, students with academic flags, students living off campus and any other variables deemed high risk. Work with Academic Excellence’s centralized communications and marketing group regarding messages being sent to students throughout the life cycle of each student from commitment to the University through degree completion. Participate in professional development opportunities on campus and off campus staying abreast of best practices in advising undergraduates and retaining them through graduation.
