Job Summary
This part-time adjunct faculty appointment is in the Communication, History, Languages, and Social Sciences (CHLSS) Division, Department of Psychology & Family Studies. The assignment is on a semester-to-semester basis, primarily for in-person, on-campus teaching. The position requires flexibility of schedule which may include days, evenings, and a variety of campus locations. These duties include the evaluation & supervision of students, working collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and other faculty, and completing professional development requirements for adjunct faculty.
Job Duties:
• Demonstrate current knowledge required by the curriculum for Psychology.
• Provide classroom instruction for undergraduate psychology studies courses including, but not limited to, General Psychology and/or Lifespan Development.
• Competently adjust provided online components (LMS and publisher content and engagement platforms) to best meet students’ needs with assistance from Program Coordinator.
• Practice regular and consistent interaction with, and feedback to, students through LMS and/or classroom venue.
• Work collaboratively with faculty & staff to provide education, evaluation, and supervision to students.
• Complete required professional development training required of adjunct faculty.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in psychology or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in psychology required.
• Course Prefix PSY or written confirmation of psychology credits with other course prefixes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in psychology and at least two years of teaching experience.
• Experience with Blackboard and/or other instructional technology, including eTextbooks and online learning materials.
