Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Pre-Clerkship Education this role will provide instruction specifically in Clinical Skills for the Physicianship Track.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching (100%)

  • Works with Department Chair to provide hands-on student training in history and physical assessment, diagnostic testing, and procedural skills
  • Assists in monitoring the progress of all students to ensure successful progress toward graduation and recommend disciplinary action when necessary
  • Teaches in assigned courses
  • Assist in student testing, re-testing and remediation as necessary
  • Develop clinical scenarios for standardized patient education assessment/evaluation and simulation educucation/assessment
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Health professional with the following degrees: DO, MD, Paramedic, APN, PA
  • Clinical experience providing direct patient care their specialty
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and the desire and ability to learn course management software/distance learning technologies
  • Please provide examples of accomplishments, skills, and publications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in precepting Osteopathic medical students in a clinical setting.
  • Experience as an instructor in an clinical skills course or CME course
  • Point of Care Ultrasound as well as experience with Simulation.
