** This is a part-time, 27 hour/per week position **

POSITION SUMMARY

A Child Care Admin 1 (CCA) serves as secretarial support in the Child Development Center.  This position has a responsibility in providing support to administration in a non- academic area. The position is under the direction of the Child Development Center Director on the college campus. The CCA assists in providing a welcoming environment, clerical support, provision of schedule/monitor of student workers and observers, while providing support for childcare duties.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Fiscal Stewardship

  • Child Care Admin 1 ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as policies and reporting requirements related to the areas of the Child Development Center to help minimize any financial costs.
  • Child Care Admin 1 serves as part of the benefit to the College student and employee in terms of enhancing growth in student enrollment and employee productivity.

Holistic Student Support

  • Child Care Admin 1 creates an inviting, safe, and educational environment for children 6 weeks -5 years.  The center provides care for the children of the college’s students as well as faculty and staff.  

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices.

  • Child Care Admin 1 role is to help create an environment that values cultural, racial and socioeconomic diversity as well as gender differences and special needs in family backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School diploma.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of employment date
  • Pass a criminal background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK CHARACTERISTICS

  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Written and Oral communication skills, computer skills ( word processing, spreadsheets, data entry)
  • Interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to evaluate situations (routine and/or crisis) and make decisions using sound judgment; to maintain confidentiality; to handle multiple, simultaneous work demands; to maintain flexibility and be able to adapt to change

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide routine administrative clerical support including compiling and reconciling information for various reports, summarizing documents for supervisor /department staff; establishing and maintaining filing system of various records,
  • Assist with coordinating events and appointment schedules
  • Maintain work flow of office functions and preform general clerical duties such as typing, copying, filing, answering phones, taking messages, routing calls, greeting visitors,  providing appropriate information
  • Schedule/monitor work of student workers, temporary employees, and practicum/observers.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
