Administrative Support Associate

Position Title:             Admissions and Dual Enrollment Specialist / Bookstore Support Associate

Location:                    Elizabethton Main Campus

Department:              Student Services / Dual Enrollment

Job Summary:             This is a full-time, support position reporting to the Student Services Coordinator / Dual Enrollment Coordinator and providing Admissions support for Dual Enrollment and Standard students. This position will also be trained as a backup for bookstore operations as well as backup for Front Desk Receptionist.

MINNIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma with experience, Technical Diploma, or associates required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in an office or customer service environment; experience in higher education preferred.
  • Banner experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience using multiple business software applications including Word, Access, Excel, and other MS Office applications. 
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with the public, employees, and students at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines and submit accurate reports with close attention to details.
  • Demonstrated experience of time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects at once with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies, regulations, and manuals.
  • Ability to design and maintain record-keeping systems.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides assistance for all recruiting and admissions functions including hosting tours, special events, Orientation, and outside recruiting events
  • Provides outstanding customer service to faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
  • Assists the Student Services Department and the Dual Enrollment Department with all admissions functions including assisting students with applications and financial aid applications, gathering applicable documents, processing applications for admission
  • Efficiently manages student data
  • Assists the Bookstore Associate with beginning term procedures and annual inventory
  • Fills in for the bookstore associate as needed
  • Effectively communicates with and provides follow-up with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Acts as the records specialist for all standard student records
  • Local travel as required to complete duties
  • Provides backup for front desk receptionist
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE

$34,423-$43,028 commensurate with TBR salary guidelines and applicable experience
