Job Summary

The Medical Oncology Consults & Infusion APP functioning within the inpatient and sometimes ambulatory adult medical oncology setting and chemo suite works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team.

The Advanced Practice Provider functions the majority of the time inpatient and minority of the time in clinic managing the care of acute and chronically ill patients of this specific population including possible outpatient procedures. The APP is generally service aligned team and manages the care of the inpatient/outpatient with the team.

In some instances, the Advanced Practice Provider may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting and ambulatory setting. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care.

The Advanced Practice Provider demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
