Assistant / Associate Professor, Education Leadership

The Department of Educational Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Educational Leadership to begin July 1, 2025. This is a 9-month, tenure-line position. The selected individual will conduct an active research and publication program, teach master's and doctoral courses in school and district leadership, provide advising support to graduate students, supervise doctoral students and dissertations, and provide service to the college, university, and the profession. This position is not possible to be performed remotely.

Required Qualifications

An earned doctorate in education (or related fields such as sociology, political science, economics, public policy, and psychology) is required by August 2025. The candidate's expertise must fall within the central areas of teaching and research on educational leadership and administration in P-12 settings. Candidates must show productivity or potential for national prominence through research published in peer-reviewed journals, as appropriate for rank. Candidates at the Assistant rank must possess the ability to teach graduate courses in-person and online related to educational leadership, while candidates at the Associate must have experience advising graduate students and teaching graduate courses in-person and/or online related to educational leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

While areas of research and teaching are open, the search committee will prioritize candidates with expertise in qualitative or mixed methods. Other preferred qualifications include expertise in policy, finance, and/or organizational studies; experience mentoring and advising graduate students; experience as a teacher or administrator in K-12 schools; and a sustainable research agenda with demonstrated success or pursuit of external funding.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
