Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Community Conduct and Compliance plays a critical role in supporting the College’s efforts to uphold ethical behavior, compliance with regulations, and community standards. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position assists in managing conduct investigations, implementing compliance initiatives, and fostering a respectful and inclusive campus environment. The Assistant Director also facilitates workplace mediation and conflict resolution, helping to maintain a positive and collaborative community. This role requires close collaboration with campus partners to ensure compliance with Title IX, Title VI, ADA, and other regulations while promoting education and awareness around behavioral standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices

  • Support the development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives that promote understanding of community conduct, ethical behavior, and compliance obligations.
  • Assist in fostering an inclusive environment by addressing systemic issues related to discrimination, harassment, and misconduct through targeted education and prevention initiatives.
  • Engage with faculty, staff, and students to provide resources and guidance on reporting options, support services, and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to advance the College’s inclusive strategies through conduct and compliance efforts.

2. Behavioral Standards and Conduct Management

3. Compliance Oversight and Risk Management

  • Support compliance efforts related to Title IX, Title VI, ADA, and other federal and state regulations, ensuring that all investigative and adjudicative personnel are adequately trained.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance data and preparing reports that inform policy adjustments and procedural improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks through education, training, and policy refinement.

4. Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise designated investigators and other personnel involved in conduct and compliance processes, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Assist in the allocation of tasks, monitoring of progress, and resolution of issues within the conduct and compliance team.
  • Contribute to leadership initiatives by participating in committees and working groups that align with the college’s strategic objectives related to conduct, compliance, and community standards.

5. Fiscal Stewardship and Resource Management

  • Assist in managing budgets and resources for the conduct and compliance functions, ensuring efficient use of funds and alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Support the development of proposals for additional resources or funding to enhance the College’s conduct and compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to ensure accurate financial oversight of departmental expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, law, compliance, or a related field; a master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in conduct management, compliance, investigations, or related roles, with a focus on conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, Title VI, ADA, and other relevant compliance regulations.
  • Proven skills in workplace mediation and conflict resolution, with the ability to facilitate discussions and build consensus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Projected Salary Range: $57,260 - $71,580
