Responsibilities:

  1. Advising & Completion. Provide personal, career, academic and financial advising to help students overcome barriers to completion. Conduct workshops, training sessions, programs and leadership opportunities that enrich cultural and social connections on campus. Act as a liaison to colleges and develop initiatives to support student retention and graduation. Focus on specific populations as assignedCoordinate and advocate for university wide efforts to promote student success, persistence, and completion. Serve as a Club Advisor when requested. Facilitate communication between Financial Aid, Student Support Services, the Business office and other campus services.  Conduct needs assessment and create support plans for students in academic jeopardy. Use data to identify at-risk students and develop intervention strategies to ensure their success. 
  2. Programming. Develop and coordinate programs that foster equity and inclusive excellence, such as speaker series, educational workshops, and skill-building events. This includes initiating and negotiating contracts with facilitators, performing host responsibilities, and managing event logistics. Mentor the EIE Coordinator/Advisor roles and oversee assigned programing to ensure alignment with EIE strategic initiatives.
  3. Bridge Programs. Develop and coordinate bridge initiatives to support student transition and success. This includes managing participant application and recruitment processes, coordinating transportation and arrival logistics, monitoring participants, conducting workshops and social activities, and facilitating group discussions.
  4. Recruitment. Assist with student recruitment but supporting Admissions and servings as a liaison for faculty, staff and students to enhance the recruitment process. 
  5. Assessment and Evaluation. Collect and analyze data to assess and evaluate programs and initiatives within the Office of Equity and Inclusive Excellence. Compare internal data with national and peer benchmarks and recommend strategies and initiatives based on best practices to reach performance measures.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of Winona State University. This includes managing budgets, supporting various activities, participating in committees and work groups, and engaging in professional development. Oversee the EIE Office in the absence of the Associate Vice President for Equity and Inclusive Excellence and Chief Diversity Officer.
