Job Summary

The Fujio Cho Department of Engineering Technology at the University of Kentucky (http://www.engr.uky.edu/et/) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in computer engineering technology. The position is with the University of Kentucky’s newly launched computer engineering technology program at the extended campus in Paducah, KY. The College of Engineering currently administers ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree programs in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering at Paducah, with nine full-time faculty. The position is a 9-month appointment in the Special Title Series (tenure-eligible). Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and the motivation to sustain a program of independent research and scholarship, the direction of undergraduate research, and other independent and collaborative research endeavors. Research collaborations with local industry and faculty on the Lexington campus are encouraged. The anticipated start date is January 2025.



Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering Technology or a related discipline. Candidates with specialties in all areas of interest in embedded systems and application, artificial intelligence, circuits, digital electronics, nanoelectronics, ASIC, wireless communication, digital systems design, electronics prototyping and construction, software engineering processes and methods, signals, systems and transforms and digital signal processing. Additional consideration will also be given to candidates with expertise that enhances existing department strengths. The candidate’s teaching and research focus should be strong computer software and hardware applications in all cases. Individuals currently employed in industry are encouraged to apply.
