Position Summary

The Department of Economics and Marketing in the Romain College of Business at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning in August 2025.

Duties/Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include teaching economics content and methods courses, maintaining an active research agenda, engaging in professional and university service activities, and advising undergraduate economics and business majors.

Current teaching needs of the department include econometrics/quantitative methods, industrial organization, financial economics, microeconomics, behavioral economics.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Applicants must hold or be nearing completion (ABD) of a doctoral degree in economics from an accredited university. Applicants in the process of finishing their degree will be considered at the rank of Instructor if the degree will be conferred by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2025, terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2026.

About the College

The Romain College of Business currently enrolls approximately 1,200 undergraduate business majors and 800 MBA students. The college has several state-of-the-art labs providing faculty access to high quality resources for teaching and research including the Biometrix Discovery Lab and the Judith A. and Robert E. Griffin Experimental Economics Lab.
