A full time, tenure-track position in Psychology at the Assistant Professor level is available beginning in the fall semester of 2025 at St. Lawrence University. We seek an individual with a background and specialization in Clinical and/or Counseling Psychology, with additional expertise in Health Psychology preferred. The successful candidate will teach Abnormal Psychology, Introductory Psychology, and other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, such as Introduction to Clinical or Counseling Psychology. The teaching load is three courses per semester.

Sponsorship of undergraduate research projects is expected; opportunities for course release may be earned through this mentorship (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/psychology/student-research). Interested candidates may be able to teach in the university’s First Year Program, our residential living/learning program (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/first-year-program). Additionally, numerous other opportunities exist to mentor undergraduates, both within and outside the department, including working with students in the CSTEP and McNair Scholars programs (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/cstep-and-mcnair). Approximately 65-85 students choose to declare a psychology major each year. We also co-sponsor a Neuroscience Major with our Biology Department.

The successful candidate will join a department of 12 full-time faculty members and two academic support people who are passionate about supporting our liberal arts curriculum through diverse and inclusive pedagogies and scholarly agendas. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have their Ph.D. in clinical and/or counseling psychology or a related field by August 15, 2025, but ABD candidates may be considered. A candidate with a PhD is preferred, but we will consider candidates with an EDD or PsyD who meet the needs of our students. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship and indicate strong commitment to undergraduate education at a liberal arts college. We are particularly interested in an individual who has a strong commitment to the diversity of the academic community and can demonstrate this commitment through their teaching, research, and/or service.

The salary range for this position is $70,500 - $77,525 annually; the starting rate will be determined by experience, skills, disciplinary training, and other factors permitted by law.
