Physical Requirements

behavioral health notes and typing on an electronic health record; position will also include periods of walking throughout emergency rooms at Good Sam and Chandler sites.



Shift

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week from 7am until 7:30pm with occasional attendance required at quality improvement or management meetings. This position is required to work weekends and holidays per departmental needs.



Job Summary

Psychiatry Services is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to work as a psychiatric intake nurse. This position will be responsible for providing in person risk assessments; preauthorizing insurance verifications; collaborating with referral sources and potential patients; coordinating the referral and intake process; providing patient safety planning for patients at risk for suicide; making outside referrals and phone follow-up calls; determining appropriate level of care; facilitating the admission process; maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. PMH-BC certification is preferred for this position. The ideal candidate will possess experience with behavioral health assessments and care coordination.

RN will provide care for the Psychiatric Intake through the Emergency Department. The Behavioral Health unit provides therapeutic care in a safe, non-threatening environment with the highest expectations of customer satisfaction. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the behavioral health team. This team is responsible for independently delivering comprehensive client care based on appropriate growth and development, developing and implementing plan of care, facilitating therapeutic groups and demonstrating effective therapeutic techniques.
