Salary Range: $640.00 per credit hour (Credit hours vary between classes but usually, lecture courses are 3 credits and lab courses are 2 credits.)

Job Summary

The Natural Science Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has openings for part time Biology Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of biology.

Job Duties:

Common courses in which we are in regular need:
• Bio 112: Intro to Biology (Lecture)
• Bio 113: Intro to Biology (Lab)
• Bio 137: Human Anatomy & Physiology I (Lecture & Lab)
• Bio 139: Human Anatomy & Physiology II (Lecture & Lab)
• Bio 225: Microbiology (Lecture & Lab)

The primary responsibilities of these positions are:
• Lesson plan and teach courses.
• Maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students.
• Attend faculty success and retention activities.
• Utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the discipline you will be teaching.

Special Note: To teach Anatomy & Physiology at a Kentucky community college, the applicant must have a master’s degree or higher and have taken at least 3 credit hours of a graduate level Anatomy or Physiology course.
